Cutting edge, dynamic and vibrant International FMCG Company based in the East Rand requires a passionate and hands on Head of learning Talent Management candidate

Key Responsibilities:
  • To develop a talent management strategy for the organisation, taking into account current and future needs of the organisation and the prevailing supply conditions of talent that is essential to the organisation
  • To manage the career management process in the organization through effective implementation of career processes such as Individual Development Plans, Talent Development Forums, Succession Plans and ensuring the strategic management of talent
  • To ensure the buy-in of top management and leadership as well as the support and cooperation of all relevant stakeholders in the implementation of talent management initiatives
  • To manage the Leadership Development programmes using the most appropriate methods and ensure a sufficient pool of potential future Managers to ensure the organization has the managerial capabilities to achieve its business goals through the implementation of core management and functional competencies
  • Develop and deploy an outcome-focused, sustainable training and development strategy and implement through professional administration, design, development and delivery to ensure effective talent development on all levels
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of training needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers to drive training initiatives
  • Develop all aspects of curriculum development including course outlines, exercises, role-plays, case studies and comprehensive training modules to educate, enhance performance and recognise performance linking to annual training and development plans
  • Ensure Workplace Training Plans and Reports are submitted and that maximum value is extracted from the Skills Development Act in general for the benefit of our employees and the business in general
  • Evaluate learning and development programmes; modify where necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment
  • Align learning and development with EE and WSP targets
  • Develop means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs through testing, etc so that learners’ progress is monitored
  • Develop and monitor spending against allocated budgets by assessing the return on investment of all training and development programmes
  • To facilitate the implementation of Performance Management within the organization, ensuring a performance orientated culture
  • Support performance management processes like the appraisal process, core competencies, capability and recruitment
  • Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and HR staff, exemplifying the desired culture and philosophies of the company
  • Ensure all recruitment practices realise the talent profile requirements of the business
  • Align remuneration, recognition, transfer and promotional practices with learning and talent strategies

Desired Education:

  • Degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification (HR, Industrial Psychology, Psychology, Social Sciences)
  • 3-5 years relevant experience including: Managing a team (minimum 3 reports)
  • Design, development and implementation of world class training and development programmes
  • Managing the Talent Management processes for the business which includes:
  • Coordinating talent review forums
  • Creating succession plans and talent pipelines
  • Performing HR consulting duties i.e. recruitment, performance development, role profiling
